FORTHCOMING EVENTS

Northern Ireland Regional Conference

The up-coming Regional Conference announced in the last edition of CommuNIqué is now only a few days away - 7 April. The Council hopes that as many of the friends - and their friends - will be able to attend. This event is 'open to all'. It will begin at 10am and end by 5pm. The venue is the Springvale Training Centre, Springfield Road, Belfast where Sunday School is held weekly. Among the exciting events Fidelma Meehan will speak to us about the "Spirit of Swindon" - one of the most thrilling projects in the United Kingdom. Dion Azordegan from the European Bahá'í Youth Council and will be speaking on the subject of 'The Vision of the European Bahá'í Youth Council'. Dr. Iain Palin will officially represent the National Assembly. The Dance Workshop will play a major part. There will be children's classes and everyone is asked to bring their own lunch. Soup and rolls will be available. Bring your friends.

All Ireland "Equal Wings" Seminar for Women and Men

We are thrilled to announce that the Associations of Bahá'í Women for Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland are going to hold a joint all-Ireland residential seminar for women and men based on the 'equal wings' workshop programme. It is hoped to hold the residential in the first fortnight in June. It is an exciting time and real progress is being made in the deepenings on the compilation Women called for by the Universal House of Justice and given to the ABW as a remit from the National Spiritual Assembly.

The ABW NI core group is appointed by the National Assembly and meets once a month. It now has its full complement of members, and new officers were elected at its November 2001 meeting. The full membership of the core group is as follows:
Pippa Cookson (Treasurer),
Mahin Gornall,
Susanne Rezvani (Chair),
Dorothy Riordan (Secretary),
Collette Rogers,
Flora Tudors-Luck,
Marie Whiteside.

ABW NI needs the support and prayers of the whole community to go forward and carry out the call of our Lord.
