FROM THE NATIONAL SPIRITUAL ASSEMBLY

TRANQUILLITY ZONES AND SAFETY

The National Spiritual Assembly has noted the growth in the number of Tranquillity Zones being held in various parts of the country and welcomes their use as one means whereby we might reach out into the wider community. However it seems that full safety measures are not always taken. The National Assembly feels strongly that the safety of those taking part in a Tranquillity Zone must be uppermost in the mind of the organisers, and all necessary measures must be taken.

For instance:

These safety precautions must be taken and sound common sense used in all arrangements.

Anyone organising a Tranquillity Zone is strongly recommended to obtain the full guidance issued by the National Spiritual Assembly. It can be accessed on the World-Wide Web at www.tranquillity-zone.org.uk or obtained electronically by sending an email to resources@bahai.org.uk or in hard copy form from the National Office.

NEW AGENCY OF THE NATIONAL SPIRITUAL ASSEMBLY

To further develop its work in the expanding field of public information and media activity, the National Spiritual Assembly has now established a new agency, the Office of Public Information, known for short as OPI.

This new agency will combine the national media responsibilities of our National Public Information Officer in the Office of External Affairs with the work hitherto carried out by the Bahá'í Information Office. It will operate from the National Hazíratu'l-Quds and from the National Sub- Office in Tonbridge.

For information and resources previously available from BIO, please contact OPI at the Bahá'í National Sub-Office, Third Floor, Bridge House, 97-101 High Street, Tonbridge TN9 1DR, e-mail opi@bahai.org.uk

Please note that all these items and services will continue to be available.
