Graeme met Nicol at school. Nicol met Bruce at work. In February
2002 they all met in a garage and annoyed the neighbours until the
police were called and Cowala was born.
Undeterred, they kept on meeting until they'd refined their brand of innovative noise into a bunch of songs and it wasn't long before they were playing their first gig.

Deans High School was the venue, and nice as it was, the band needed a
demo in order to move onto bigger and better things. Fortunately, this
was when Marcus Finlayson and Ross Blackwood stepped in. Workmates of
Bruce and Nicol, Marcus and Ross had been planning to start a record label
for a some time, and saw their opportunity in Cowala.
The studio was easy to choose, as Bruce had vounteered as tea-boy and skivvy at Chamber Studio the year before. Armed with Filthy Mind's money, Cowala spent three days recording with Jamie Watson, and the results were very good indeed. |
