I bump into Paul Spencer more often than most of these – mostly as a result of his angling activities by the River Derwent, where I walk quite often. I think we had a sort of fellow feeling with each other at school since we were both 'hole-in-the-heart' children. I fortunately never had to have an operation like he did.
