The Latest News from The Charles Herbert Aslin Society

Derby Bus Station - which from henceforth shall be known as the Charles Aslin Bus Station to the Society - has finally been demolished and work is beginning on the 'Riverlights' development (October 2006).
However, you can assist our featured campaign by clicking on the following link for our campaign form.

Furthermore, this does not mean an end to possible campaigning on behalf of Aslin's architectural legacy in the city, which even now is under possible threat, especially the Exeter Place Apartment complex across the River Derwent from the City Centre. This can be said because mention was made of the potential for 'regeneration' on the opposite bank of the river in the wake of 'Riverlights' in the literature supporting the plans for the development. If it becomes obvious that this will include Exeter Place the Charles Herbert Aslin Society will 'go live' as an actual campaigning organisation in respect of the extant built environment and this will be its first 'hot' campaign.
